Philippe Halsman was born 1906 in Riga and was a American portrait photographer. One of his famous pictures is a human skull consisting of seven naked women’s bodies.

This photo was made by Philippe Halsman after a drawing Dali made in 1947. It shows seven nude women, arranged in a way which resembles a skull. This turned out to be something of an instant classic. Who is not impressed the first time he sees it? Because of its visual appeal and shock value, the idea was later copied in movie posters like this one:
