Sarah has been eating tomatoes in her quest to orgasm
SARAH SMITH, 46, is among those people unable to orgasm. Here, the mum of four from Chester, who runs a cleaning business, reveals her quest for a climax. She says:
“I’ve tried many weird and wonderful things – recently a friend said eating tomatoes could make you have an orgasm, so I have been stocking up on those.
“The more you want an orgasm, the less likely you are to relax enough to have one. During sex, all I experience is a general feeling of pleasure.
“It probably contributed to the break-up of my first marriage. He was a very patient and loving man who did all he could to make me orgasm. But we came to accept it was not going to happen, no matter what he did.
“I remarried. We were together for four years. I didn’t orgasm with him, either, but I experimented with a vibrator and oils and I came pretty close.
“It has made me feel a freak and I’m open to any suggestions. I’m beginning to accept orgasm is not the be-all and end-all of sex and that you can have a healthy relationship with a man without being orgasmic.

LIFE coach Olga Levancuka and relationship expert Dr Vena Ramphal tell us what different sex styles mean. Olga looks at men, Vena the women . . .
MISSIONARY – Olga: Blokes who like this are trusting, honest and down to earth – but not that creative. They will have a small, tight-knit circle of mates.
Vena says: Women are not as passive as people might assume. They believe they have the right to be served pleasure and are not afraid to enjoy taking it.
DOGGY – Olga The guys might secretly lack confidence, so prove they are ultra-manly. They tend to put a high emphasis on male bonding, nights in the pub and lads’ holidays.
Vena: Women are bold and unapologetic about what they want. The lack of eye contact shows they don’t feel the need to wrap things up in romance.
SPOONING – Olga: If your man loves spooning, you’ve got a keeper. Affectionate, not afraid of intimacy and assured enough in their manhood that they don’t mind revealing their vulnerability.
Vena: The arousal comes from small movements and lots of closeness. Women who like it are masters of subtlety . . . classy and diplomatic. They don’t rush things and have great intuition.
COWGIRL – Olga: These men appreciate life’s pleasures – good food, vivacious company and sexual satisfaction. Can be indulgent and enjoy splashing out.
Vena: The Cowgirls like to be in control and don’t shy away from grafting to achieve goals. Body confident and not embarrassed being in the spotlight.
STANDING – Olga: A position for men youthful in spirit and full of energy. They are great at turning dreams into reality quickly.
Vena: Female fans are sporty, outdoorsy types. Position looks beautiful and sculptural, reflecting a passion for art.
There are a number of ways to get you going
Focus on something erotic you can see, then hone in on a taste, a smell, a sound and a touch. This will help you pay full attention to the sensations you’re experiencing right now.
Blindfold your lover, hide a sweet treat on your body and challenge them to find it by gently licking, sniffing and biting.
Tease yourself until you are on the edge of orgasm, then stop and repeat the process to build to an intense climax.
Women should press the soles of their feet together, which squeezes the genital area and increases that explosive feeling when you orgasm.
Breathe deeply and make roaring sounds. It’s psychologically freeing and enhances sexual sensations.
There are a number of health benefits to regular sex
LENGTHENS LIFE: A study published in the British Medical Journal found men who had fewer than two orgasms a week were twice as likely to die than those having more.
IMPROVES SLEEP: If counting sheep does not help you nod off, a quickie might do the trick. A study by Yale University in the US found lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol after sex helps you relax and get to sleep.
REDUCES HEART ATTACK RISK: Research published in the British Medical Journal found nookie three times a week could slash your risk of heart attack or stroke by half.
BOOSTS IMMUNE SYSTEM: Sharing germs during sex improves your immune system. Research found sexually active women have stronger systems.
ANTI-AGEING: Couples who have sex three times a week look ten years younger, says a decade-long study at Royal Edinburgh Hospital, which tested 3,500 people aged 18 to 102.
