Having recently entered my 30s, I have made a few important observations. First of all I can no longer eat an entire bag of Pizza Rolls without consequence and, more importantly, dating appears to be a lot easier.
Women in their late 20s and early 30s always seem to be a lot more confident and approachable. This is certainly thanks to nothing I have done. I’m no less goofy or odd looking than I was in college, and any arguments that I am somehow more mature are negated by the fact that I have a Mohawk and own several Harry Potter shirts.
A recent survey by a British dating website discovered that while I may be as obnoxious yet charming as ever, most women hit the peak of their sexual confidence at 31 years of age. This was revealed after analyzing the responses of 2,000 people to determine the age at which people are experienced enough to be comfortable with their sexuality and body shape.
Another interesting statistic derived from this data is that women commonly reach the lowest point in their sexual confidence just six years earlier. At 25, most admitted that peer pressure and body shape fears left them feeling less than comfortable about their sexuality.
The survey also asked people for information about their love life.
Only a mere 12 percent of people described their sex life as good, with the averaging rating coming in at about a five out of 10. Worse than that, about a third of people felt trapped by their sex life describing it as “very routine,” while a whole fifth of people said their sex life is non-existent. Ouch!
Men were also included in these results, and they were found to hit their peak a few years later at 33. It was also revealed that men are three times more likely to initiate sex in a relationship, with 45 percent saying they are the ones to get the party started as opposed to just 15 percent of women.
Overall, respondents agreed that chemistry and communication were more important to a sexual relationship than just physical attraction, which is good news for me and other charming, weird-looking dudes. Avada Kedavra!
