So I’ve been with my boyfriend for a year and a half, and haven’t had sexual relations with anyone since before we got together. Last month he ate me out, and a week later he got strep. He got over the strep a week and a half later, and felt fine and ate me out a couple of days after that and felt fine. He recently ate me out for the first time since then, and has started feeling sick again. Can oral lead to strep? Is it me?
mark4500: Oral gohnerea. Look it up. Very similar symptoms to strep.
alittlebirdy1: Strep throat comes from *Streptococcus pyogenes*, aka group A *streptococcus*. It attacks the respiratory systems – not the genitals.
It is possible for a person to be a carrier of Strep without showing symptoms of the infection. However, even if you are a carrier, he’s picking it up from kissing, from eating or drinking after you, from touching things you have touched after you’ve touched your mouth (door handles, faucets, etc).
He’s not getting it from giving oral sex. Strep throat is **not** an STD.
Guythings: I would imagine if you had the streptococcus virus inside your vagina you would definitely feel it.
JoshuaKhaos: I’ve had it happen. It sucks lol.
holyshithestall: If he has cryptic tonsils, the normal bacteria in your vagina (not necessarily anything wrong with you) can cause an infection in the crypts, his body will either develop antibodies to whatever bacteria it is that you carry or it wont. Source: had cryptic tonsils that used to get infected the first few times I went down on someone new, got them cut out, no more infections
