Non Latex Condom
Hi guys, so this girl says she is allergic to latex and we need to use non-latex condom. Problem is she says the non-latex condoms break easily. Does anyone have any good recommendations for that I can find at a drugstore?
She mentioned just going unprotected, which I got excited thinking about it then slightly nervous because it’s gonna be our first time. Have you done unprotected with someone the first time you did it with them? I hope I’m not being a weirdo about non protection, I don’t want anything bad to happen.
sandybeachclam: Polyurethane condoms are available. I wouldn’t go “raw” unless you both have been tested and are being monogamous and she is on birth control.
SeeTheP: Alright, since none of these other comments have actually recommended shit I’ll step in on my porn account. Ive been using Skyn brand condoms for the better part of a year and a half. They’re synthetic polyisoprene which is a fancy term for saying its latex free. I’ve found them to be wonderfully comfortable and feel better than regular latex condoms. As a plus, they also don’t wreak since they aren’t latex 👌 Go with Skyn, you can get a box of like 20 on amazon for like $10ish which comes out to like 50c a condom. Little more expensive than latex ones, but worth it. I know you can def find them in some drugstores too.
the_Russian_Five: Non-latex condoms do have a slightly higher failure rate. But that is no reason not to use them. If you use them correctly, they are unlikely to break. And if you do have a break there are options.
IBetYouveNever: Trojan Supra are polyurethane. It’s not as stretchy as latex/polyisoprene so finding the right fit is harder (and I wish they made more finely-graduated sizes as a result), but once you find one, they feel great and I’ve never had one break.
Durex Avanti are also polyurethane, though I haven’t tried them.
Look on Amazon and you can get non-latex assortments. Try a few varieties, keep notes, and reorder whatever you like best. That is, if your “lab partner” is up for some experimentation! 😉
solidad: I have used polyisoprene condoms before (due to latex allergy) with no problems at all and I am quite thick. I have never broken a condom.
I only have unprotected sex with someone that I have gone to a clinic with and we both got tested.
Mushro0mMan: Also. Buy lube! This will help your condom failure rate 10 fold. Astroglide gel is my favorite water based brand.
crit_knitter: I’ve (34f) been allergic to latex for several years now, and I buy Skyn and Skyn Large on Amazon. They’ve been the best an easiest to find.
ArrowRobber: “lifestyle” Skyn are your friend.
I’m slightly bigger than what I can find in the stores, but I use lifestyle skyn ‘large’ with at least the most comfort. With them being a nominal width of 58mm and me being a 60mm, they’re still stretchy & soft enough that they don’t feel like a cock ring, and I’ve yet to have one break despite usually having rather long sessions 30 minutes+.
geilerhammel: if you wont protect, there is a chance that she gets pregnant after. if you dont wanna use a latex condom then she should defenitely take the morning after pill. i dot think that non-latex condoms are worse than latex. if you use enough lube, they shouldt go raw
