I got invited to a swanky sex party…and I’ll probably be on my period. What’s the etiquette? Can I still go?
The title is pretty self explanatory. I’m either going to be on my period that day or very close to getting it.
The invitation says it’s totally ok to not participate and they’re going to have a bunch of fancy alcohol and a chocolate fondue fountain…which honestly would be perfect for PMSing. Can I still go? I don’t want people to be weirded out if I’m just hanging out by the chocolate and watching all night…and later on in the night I’ll probably be the only person still wearing clothes (or at least pants).
Also let’s say I luckily haven’t started my period yet…should I warn people that it might show up at any point, or just play it safe and not participate?
johpick: Well, the etiquette of periods at sex parties is the same as periods in other sex situations.
You can go. Keep your pants on if you want. Why not even participate with pants on – blowjobs are a thing, boobjobs, handjobs.
If you care about being invited again, I think it would be best to tell the host (or a woman who is close with the host) that you don’t take your pants off because of your period, and would love to be invited again, with full participation.
MrPuppyBliss: You can go to a sex party and you don’t have to play. People do that all the time. You don’t even have to tell anyone why you simply say that you’re not playing tonight if anyone asks you to play.
If you do want to play, you just work this thing about your period into the pre-play discussion. (The discussion should cover rules and boundaries, safety precautions, disclosing STI status and when you last test was, asking about your potential partner’s sti status and last test, etcetera)
If the person has been told you’re either on your period or could start any moment and they are cool with it, then they are cool with it. (But be a good guest and bring plenty of towels in case you bleed. Don’t mess up their bed or their towels)
The wife and I went to a lot of parties before we ever played at a party. We would meet people and then make private dates if we wanted to play. There isn’t really any expectation that you’re going to fuck just because you’re there.
carldeanson: Sounds like you already want to go.
Chicago_Sir: Ive to one party similar (not really my scene). I can tell you if it’s a larger party no one will care, they’re too horny and waiting to get busy. If it’s a small party, there will be people eyeing you and wanting you. Don’t lead anyone on be honest or have a really good excuse. My advice would be to mingle, have fun then have an excuse why you’ll be leaving early but next time you can be there. It opens up the option for future invites and the unachievable fruit is most desirable. I think you should go for future networking reasons as you mentioned.
RickTheFrog: Etiquette would be to be to walk around in your panties with a plug in. You can offer blow jobs, if you feel like it. But it would be awkward to be fully clothed.
If you’re up for something different, you can sport a strapon.
pepsiicat: You can still wear something sexy. Assuming you use tampons. Theyre very easy to hide. And like what was already said, theres lots of things besides sex you can do.
solidad: Depending on the party there may be bathrooms with a shower so you can clean up some. Or try sex in the shower with the understanding of period sex. But that’s your call. Most people feel a little odd about it. also keep in mind that sex parties don’t mean that absolutely everyone gets naked or even has sex. Some are voyeurs. Some are there to help with party and maybe doa little fondling / mingling. You won’t seen as weird given a very valid excuse. And as a side note if you offer to volunteer sometime getting in good with the party planners can give you perks and invites to other more private parties. Just something to consider.
Used to help with a swing club for awhile and help setup the party.
MissRebecca206: You can try using a menstrual cup. It looks like a diaphragm but it’s for your period, and you can have sex with it in. I’ve used it before and it definitely works in those situations! Look into it!
